Corn Chowder Recipe:

I love corn, so this is my favorite homemade soup recipe...
                                                  Corn Chowder:
1 Medium onion, finely chopped                  1/4 teaspoon dried, crushed sage
1 stalk celery, finely chopped                       2 Cups chicken broth
1/4 green bell pepper, finely chopped           2 Cups frozen corn kernels
1/4 red bell pepper, finely chopped              1 1/2 Cups light cream
4 red skinned potatoes, sliced                      1/2 Cup milk
2 Tablespoons flour                                     Salt and ground pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
*Bacon bits and chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Directions:
In a large kettle over medium heat saute onion in butter (1 to 2 Tablespoons) until soft. Add celery, peppers and potatoes. Cook 5 minutes, stirring periodically . Stir in flour and cook 2 minutes.
Add herbs and chicken broth. Cover and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes, or until potatoes are tender. Stir in corn, cream, milk and salt and pepper. Reheat but DON'T allow to boil.
Ladle into bowls and garnish with bacon bits and chopped parsley if desired.
