Homemade Hot Cocoa Recipe:

When my daughter Amanda was growing up we would drink homemade Hot Cocoa and eat Cinnamon Toast while we were playing Scrabble (she now has a Tattoo on her arm of MOM spelled out in Scrabble letters in honor of this). This is the Hot Cocoa recipe. It is much richer than the packaged kind...and so good (especially with Cinnamon Toast).

                                                     Hot Cocoa

1/2 Cup sugar                     1/3 Cup hot water
1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder         4 Cups milk
Dash of salt                         3/4 teaspoonful vanilla extract

Directions:
Mix sugar, cocoa and salt in saucepan, stir in water. Cook and stir over medium heat until mixture boils; boil and stir 2 minutes. Stir in milk and heat, DO NOT BOIL. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
*Top with miniature marshmallows or whipped cream if desired.
